Tasting Notes

A golden amber IPA with a peach and grapefruit aroma. Citrus fruit flavours with a crisp citric bitterness.

What makes it special?

Part of the Fyne Ales IPA project, a series of trials designed to explore the taste difference that comes from adding colour to traditional IPAs. When talking of the big hops they don’t get much bigger than Simcoe, a relatively new American hop. Davaar is bittered with Cascade hops, with lots of Simcoe hops on the end of the brew. Simcoe is used again in the dry hopping for aromatic purposes. Taste with Davaar Black to compare the effect of adding colour has on the flavour of beers. The Davaar series gets its name from a lighthouse located at the mouth of Campbeltown Bay.
