Tasting Notes

A dark amber coloured bittersweet ale with an aroma of caramel malt and a hint of lemon. Taste of rich caramel malts with a touch of toffee and soft citrus flavours leading to a good bitter hoppy finish.

What makes it special?

Highlander was the first beer to be brewed by Fyne Ales on St Andrews day 2001. Highlander has won the highest number of awards out of all of our beers and continues to add to its list of accolades every year. The mix of Challenger, Mount Hood and Celia hops combine wonderfully to make this strong ale dangerously easy to drink. Highlander was brewed for the first time as the farm received its first herd of highland cattle and as a result Fyne Ales first beer was named after them.
