Tasting Notes

An amber red IPA with an aroma of toasted malts, melon and citrus fruits. Sweet flavoured with hints of citrus orange and soft fruits leading to a fruity hop bitterness.

What makes it special?

Part of the Fyne Ales IPA project, a series of trials designed to explore the taste difference that comes from adding colour to traditional IPAs. Taste with Lismore Blonde to compare the difference adding colour has on the flavour of beers. Lismore brings a selection of new powerful hops together. Lismore is brewed with a combination of three hops on the end – Simcoe, Citra and Summit and is bittered with Perle. The combination of Simcoe, Citra and Summit build depth of flavour and aroma in the beer with the Perle adding a mild bitterness that does not overpower. The colour of Lismore red comes from Carared malt from Germany. The Lismore series gets its name from Lismore lighthouse, a lighthouse located between Oban and the island of Mull.
