Introducing Everyone Loves Nelson – our Apriil Mini-Cask Club Discovery brew!

For our next Mini-Cask Club special, we’re revisiting our Everyone Loves series of single-hop session pale ales – the series responsible for some of our most popular small-batch brews over the last few years – and we’re doing it with some super-fresh, super-tasty Nelson Sauvin hops!

Nelson has been a brewery favourite for a long time – it was star of the show in our former year-round IPA Sanda Blonde and we’ve continued to use it regularly in our pale and hoppy brews. For this year’s Everyone Loves Nelson, we were able to source a batch of fresh crop of Nelson hops from New Zealand an we’re incredibly excited to use them in the brew – they’re awesome.

“The Nelson hops we’re using for the next Mini-Cask Club beer are smelling just incredible – we opened up one of the packs and this huge wave of fruity aromas blew our heads off,” explains Fyne Ales Head Brewer Malcolm Downie. “It’s known for its green grape, gooseberry and grapefruit flavours and we’re feeling good that the fresh crop that we’re using for Everyone Loves Nelson is going to make a stunning single-hop beer.”

The Everyone Loves series began back in 2018, using the recipe for our flagship Jarl as a base, it became our way of exploring the power of different hops. A simple malt bill of pale malt and wheat, with a 3.8% ABV makes the series the perfect platform for our favourite hops to enjoy a moment in the spotlight. Previous Everyone Loves beers enjoyed by Mini-Cask Club members in 2020 include Everyone Loves Strata and Everyone Loves Meridian – two of our most popular Discovery brews so far!

Everyone Loves Nelson will be sent to Mini-Cask Club Discovery members first in the first week of April, with remaining mini-casks available from the online shop for £24.50 later.
