Welcome to the Fyne Ales blog—here you’ll find the latest insight into what’s going on with the Fyne Ales team in the brewery, on the farm or on the road.

Goodbye North West, Hello Fyne Lager

A wee bit of beer news today, nothing dramatic, just a heads up that those of you who are known to enjoy a pint of our North West lager will soon be seeing it poured under a new name – Fyne Lager! Same awesome beer, new easier-to-remember name.

We’ve been subtly refining the recipe for our year-round lager over the last couple of years, using the expertise of our technical brewer and Braumeister Yvonne Wernlein, and we’re really happy to where we’ve gotten the beer, so figured it was time to give it a name we can be really proud of.

“For me, Fyne Lager offers the best of both worlds – it has a classic, crisp helles lager backbone but we’ve used modern Southern Hemisphere hops to give it a lighter, fruitier character,” explains Yvonne. “It’s really easy-drinking – pretty much exactly what you want from a session lager.”

There’s a brand new, ultra-fresh batch of Fyne Lager heading out of the brewery this week, so if you catch it on a bar, be sure to give it try and let us know what you think.
