Sour Friends Return for FyneFest 2022!
No need to be glum, chum – our Sour Friends series of simple fruited sour beers has returned, and just in time for FyneFest 2022!
It’s been three years since we brewed our last kettle-sours, but they’re back with not one, but two new versions hitting the taps at FyneFest and in the wild in June.
First up, a juiced-up, super-tropical session sour – Sour Friends: Mango. Bursting with ripe and juicy mango and a long tart finish, this new version of an old friend is the kind of beer that every beer festival dreams of pouring – simple, clean and refreshing.
Alongside it, Sour Friends: Jammin’, a triple-berry sour with blueberry, blackcurrant and raspberry. Inspired by a 2017 collaboration with our pals from Orbit this low-ABV sour delivers waves of hedgerow juiciness with delightful sweetness before a zingy refreshing finish.
Both new Sour Friends brews weigh in at a modest 3.8%, packing in heaps of fruity flavours and satisfying tartness at an ABV that makes them ideal for day-drinking in the fields of Glen Fyne (or anywhere, really).
Both new brews were created by our Head of Origins Brewing, Pawel, who turned his hand to something simpler than his normal mixed fermentation experiments. “These are fun beers – they are fun to make and fun to drink,” he shares. “I really wanted to brew some uncomplicated fruit sours that people could drink in pints and still want more – I’m excited to see what people think when they go on at FyneFest.”
Both Sour Friends: Mango and Sour Friends: Jammin’ will be pouring all weekend on the FyneFest Main Bar – if you’re coming to party with us over the long weekend, be sure to try them and let us know what you think.
