Be You! See you on Friday
Last Friday evening, I hit send on an email that introduced the new look Fyne Ales to hundreds of our trade customers. It felt like a big milestone in what has been a big project – we started this process about 18 months ago, and now we’re only days away from revealing it all to the world.
The new look goes live Friday 2 November 2018.
We’re giving you a heads-up now, with just a few days notice, for two reasons; firstly, we really want to avoid being one of those brands who drags out a reveal with weeks and weeks of ‘coming soon’ teasers, and secondly, the rebrand isn’t going to be a dramatic overhaul with everything changing in one day. We’ll be transitioning to the new look gradually over the coming weeks – bottles with current labels will be replaced with new ones as they’re sold through and we’re holding back quite a few surprises for between now and the end of the year.
That said – there’s plenty to get excited about as we kick off the transition this Friday by launching the new Fyne Ales website, switching clips and badges over and tapping a couple of new special beers. They are:
Remote Parts – 7%
West coast IPA brewed in collaboration with Cigar City Brewing. We let Wayne loose amongst the hop stocks and worked with him to come up with a combination for a classic west coast IPA, before augmenting the brew with a beta-glucosidase enzyme designed to amplify citrus flavours from whole-leaf hops. It’s a full on grapefruit and clementine smashers up front, with that clean, piney finish that helps define one of our favourite styles. Remote Parts is pouring from keg from Friday, with bottles coming very soon.
Perfect Silence – 6.9%
We love red IPAs at this time of year, so we hit pause on production of our Ragnarok IPA to brew up a big, bold Autumnal beer. Perfect Silence has a rounded, almost chewy malt base punctuated with a blend of vibrant, fruity new-world hops including Belma, Calypso, Liberty and Summit. Perfect Silence is out in keg and (limited) cask this week, with bottles out in November.
Moonlight Glow – 5.5%
We didn’t want cask drinkers to miss out on the west coast IPA party, so we’ve brewed a small-batch special specifically designed for our favourite format. Moonlight Glow is a well-balanced example of the style, with fruity Mosaic, Belma and Amarillo balancing out a heavy-hit of piney Simcoe in the dry-hop. Moonlight Glow is being served (unfined) from cask from the end of the week.
So aye, lots to look forward to – it’s a bit surreal that we’re starting the next phase of the process so soon, but it’s also incredibly exciting. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with you.
We’ll be back later in the week with another update about where you can check out the new beers and maybe some final thoughts before we show you what we’ve been working on – stay tuned.
Cheers!
