Brewery Tap, Online Shop & #FyneFest20 – Covid-19 Update – 24/03/2020
Good afternoon! These are obviously unprecedented times and we hope all of you, our customers, are safe and sound and doing everything you can to keep those around you safe also.
Like everyone else, we have never seen times like these before. We have always thought beer is fundamentally about bringing people together, so inevitably the increasingly strict social distancing measures have had a huge impact on our business. In addition to taking the necessary steps to keep our staff safe, we have recently been working hard to ensure that Fyne Ales will still be here when this crisis passes, producing beers that are better than ever before, and ready to welcome everyone back to the glen when the time comes.
In the interest of safety of our team and our customers, yesterday we took the difficult decision to minimise brewing activities and reduce our on-site staff to only those required to run our online shop. This is in line with current guidance, but obviously this may change in coming days.
There is no doubt that this is an exceptionally challenging time for everyone in our industry – especially those in the front line in the bars and shops that have now closed, but also for our friends in other breweries around the world and our many suppliers. We will be doing everything possible to help support all those that we can, and really hope that you can help us to help everyone in our industry by continuing to buy beers from small, independent brewers like us.
We want to again say a huge thank you to everyone who has already placed an order online – we’ve been blown away by the outpouring of support and encouragement that we’ve had so far. You’re all amazing. If you need to top up your supplies of good beer, you know where to find us – and if you haven’t had a chance to order yet, there’s still plenty of Jarl to go around!
On practicalities:
1. Brewery Tap & Shop
As of today, the Brewery Tap & Shop is closed.
We are so grateful for those who visited over the past few days, but in line with the Government’s guidance, we will no longer offer any takeaway beer from Glen Fyne.
We encourage you to stay at home and if you want some of our beer, order from our online shop and we’ll get it to you as quickly as we can via DHL.
2. Online Shop
The best way you can help us during this challenging time is to order some beer, and merch, from our website. You can build your own mixed case of as many beers as you like to put together your perfect Fyne line-up and have it delivered direct to your door.
Plus, we’ll have special offers popping up regularly. Today, we’re launching a limited-time discount on our acclaimed red IPA, Perfect Silence – 12 x 330ml bottles for just £25 (normally over £40)! Future offers will be announced via the Fyne Ales newsletter and on social media (Facebook / Instagram / Twitter), so make sure you’re subscribed and following to get the latest discounts and special offers.
As we mentioned earlier we are operating with very skeleton staff at the brewery, so it might take us a little longer than normal to process orders, but we’ll get them to you as soon as possible.
3. FyneFest 2020
Despite holding out hope for as long as we could, it’s clear that FyneFest cannot go ahead in June 2020. However, our team has begun exploring options for rescheduling the event until later in the year.
As you can imagine, given the scale of the event and uncertainty around the current situation, it’s going to take a little bit of time to try and line up new dates for the festival, so we once again thank you for your patience. For now, we have suspended ticket sales for the festival, but would like to assure you that if the event is canceled, or if it goes ahead and you cannot attend the rescheduled dates, ticket holders will be refunded.
We will keep everyone informed of any further updates and encourage you to follow our social media profiles and this blog for latest news.
If you have any questions about any of this, please email enquiries@fyneales.com and we’ll do our best to get back to you asap, or fire a comment or reply on social media (Facebook / Instagram / Twitter).
A huge thank you once again for supporting our wee brewery – please take care of yourselves and your loved ones to the best of your ability and be sure to check back in for more news soon and keep those beer supplies topped up.
Cheers!
Fyne Ales Team
