MINI-CASK CLUB – FIXED-TERM SIGN-UP // MONTHLY SIGN-UP

To those unfamiliar with our annual seasonal amber ale, this rich and rounded gimmick-free festive beer has been a fixture in our brewing calendar since 2012, when we set out to make a winter treat that wasn’t loaded with spices or covered in pictures of drunken Santas – a Christmas cask beer for the 21st century.

Weighing in at a solid 5% and brewed with a combination of six malts to give a hearty body, Holly Daze is a robust reddish ale with plenty of backbone, upon which we’re layering a one-two punch of transatlantic hops. While German Spalt has been offering a delicate spiciness to Holly Daze for years, but this year’s recipe tweak sees it paired up with the super fruity American Belma to give a beautiful tropical top note.

“Planning the Holly Daze brew is always nice because it means that Christmas is around the corner” explains Head Brewer Malcolm Downie. “Of course, this year’s Christmas might be a little different to previous years, so Holly Daze is a little different too. A touch more fruit flavour but with that same smooth, caramelly malt body means this is going to be the perfect beer for the cold December nights – I’m thinking it’s going to be the best Holly Daze we’ve done in years.”

As always, Holly Daze will be exclusively available to Mini-Cask Club members first, with delivery by Friday 4 December. Whether they can wait for Christmas to crack them open or not, we’ll have to wait and see.
