For those unfamiliar with our Everyone Loves series, it’s our cask-only exploration of single-hop beers, using the same malt base as our flagship beer Jarl to let the pure hop profile shine. We thought, with #HappyBirthdayJarl taking place this month, what better to treat our Mini-Cask Club members to than a spiritual spin-off from our beloved session blonde?

And this is a special one – we’re showcasing Strata! We were lucky to brew with this incredible new hop variety for the first time in August last year in collaboration with our pals Little Thistly from Minnesota for the beer Hop Smuggler, which went on to be one of our best-loved small-batch brews of 2019, so of course we had to get some more in for another brew this year!

Strata, the first custom-bred hop from Oregon’s Indie Hops, has only been around since 2018, but its winning fans all over the world thanks to its potent mix of heady tropical and citrus fruit and ultra-dank West Coast flavours.

“From the moment we opened the bags last year we loved Strata, and from the first taste of Hop Smuggler from the tank, we knew we had to brew with it again,” commented Fyne Ales Head Brewer, Malcolm Downie. “Like Citra in Jarl, the hop has so much flavour punch that even at 3.8% ABV, it’s going to be an incredibly satisfying, moreish pint – which is good for Mini-Cask Club members as we’re sending them eight or so!”

Everyone Loves Strata will be available first to Mini-Cask Club members, shipping to Mini-Cask Club Discovery members from Monday 3 August – giving them the exclusive first taste of this exciting new small-batch special.
