Origins Brewing Cellar Release – Mion Blue, Habitual & Sanguine return!
Today we’re excited to re-release three Origins Brewing beers on our online shop – please welcome back Mion Blue, Habitual and Sanguine.
FYNE ALES ONLINE SHOP – ORIGINS BREWING
As a small thank-you and as a response to the popularity of our Exploring Origins mixed case, we’ve decided to release a small amount of our cellar stock of three of the most popular Origins Brewing beers from years gone by. These beers have been kept in a cool, dark corner of one of farm buildings, maturing and evolving with time – we’re really excited about how all three are tasting and can’t wait to share them with you.
MION BLUE – 5.5%
Originally released as part of the Summer 2018 collection, Mion Blue was a kettle-soured wheat beer refermented and aged in French oak for nine months with a mixed culture and whole blueberries. Originally bright and bursting with berry sourness, with age Mion Blue’s fruit character has faded, leaving behind a light but sharp and vinous sour with a very dry finish.
SANGUINE – 5.8%
First released in February 2019, time has been incredibly kind to our red-wine barrel-finished blackcurrant sour. The original sharp juicy Scottish blackcurrant flavours have mellowed while the underlying complexity has evolved giving massive Ribena aromas, bright citrus and berry flavours that fade quickly into sherberty acid before a deep finish with lingering red wine tannins.
HABITUAL – 7.1%
Also from the Spring 2018 collection, Habitual is a barrel-aged tripel blended with a young sour ale and finished with Brettanomyces and apricots. The aging process has completely transformed Habitual – instead of rounded Belgian candy sugar with subtle apricot top notes and funky underneath, it’s now a bone dry, funk-forward Brett beer with a warming honeyed oak character. It’s definitely one for Brett lovers.
