Welcome to Fyne Ales #2: New Look, New Beers
Welcome to part two of our series introducing the new look Fyne Ales, arguably the most important part of this series as here we’ll dive into the beers that are set to accompany the new branding in the coming weeks.
First things first, inside the bottle, keg and cask of our year-round modern classics is the same beer that has always been there – while we always strive to make our core beers the best they can possibly be, and they have seen significant improvement in quality since we moved production to the new brewhouse in 2015 – Jarl, Avalanche, Hurricane Jack, Maverick, Highlander and Vital Spark are fundamentally the same brilliant beers they always have been,
Now onto the fun part – what’s new?
Workbench
5.5% IPA
330ml Can, Keg
We spent a year developing the recipe for a new year-round, flagship IPA, playing with hop combinations and addition methods to finely tune a recipe that we could hold up as the best possible everyday IPA. This version of Workbench is the outcome of the prototype project – a perfectly balanced, fruit forward IPA with Summit, Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic and Citra hops for a bold, fruit-forward flavour profile, debuting in can before the end of the year.
Easy Trail
4.2% Session IPA
330ml Can, Keg
Launched back in keg in Summer 2018, Easy Trail was created by taking lessons learned from the Workbench project and applying them to a lower ABV, easy-going IPA. It’s quickly become a brewery and customer favourite – offering heaps of balanced stone and citrus fruit flavours and a satisfying finish that belies its sessionable 4.2% ABV. It was the perfect choice to join Workbench as one of our first canned beers – we’re already clearing shelves in our home fridges for when cans are released in a few week’s time.
Fyne Ales X Cigar City Brewing
Remote Parts
7% West Coast IPA
330ml Bottle, Keg
Available on draught from today and bottles due very soon, Remote Part is the result of a brilliant brew day with Cigar City’s beer genius, Wayne. Joining us from sunny Florida, we knocked-up a classic piney, dank west coast IPA with a twist – using beta-glucosidase enzymes to unlock citrussy flavours from whole-leaf hops. It’s bold, brazen and not afraid to give a kick of bitterness in the finish – catch it fresh for full enjoyment.
Perfect Silence
6.9% Red IPA
330ml Bottle, Keg
We love red IPAs, especially this time of year when we’re in need of something to get our teeth into on cold, dark nights. Perfect Silence, partially influenced by our Ragnarok IPA, has a big, rounded malt backbone with layers of vibrant fruity hops on top – we’ve used a combination of Belma, Calypso, Liberty and Summit to really deliver bold flavours. It’s out in keg this week, and a few cheeky casks this week, with bottles coming very soon.
Fyne Ales X Brouwerij De Molen
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Mills & Hills
11.1% Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
330ml Bottle
Saved the best for last? We put our Brouwerij De Molen collab imperial stout in Kentucky bourbon barrels for ten months and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the result is spectacular. BBA Mills & Hills sees the original beer’s dried red-fruit profile replaced by waves of unctuous chocolate and vanilla, with a rich, warming finish to savour. This small-batch bottling won’t hang around long.
We also have a couple of cask-only specials coming out this week – Everyone Loves Centennial (3.8%) is the latest in our single-hop session pale series, and Moonlight Glow (5.5%) is a west coast IPA dry-hopped with fruity New England-style hops for a more rounded fruit kick. Catch them on the bar very soon.

Cheers!
